Daiwa D-Shock Spinning Reel Set

The Daiwa D-Shock spinning reel set is an easy and carefree choice for fishing at the summer house, as a first proper fishing set, or as backup gear for more experienced anglers.

Unlike carbon fiber rods, the durable fiberglass rod in this set is not as susceptible to bumps and knocks, which may occur on cramped boats or fishing on rocky shores.

The rod is equipped with durable aluminum line guides, a stainless-steel reel holder, hook loop, and grippy cork handles. The cork handles are comfortable to hold even in colder weather and provide a good grip for wet hands as well. The rear handle is long enough for proper use.

The reel includes various Daiwa innovations, such as Twist Buster II that prevents line tangles and Digigear, which provides smooth reeling. The reel has a front drag.

The reel in the 210cm/7-footer set is spooled with a monofilament line that is suitable for this set. The 7-footer set is well suited for general casting, i.e. casting spinners, spoons, and plugs.

The 240cm/8-footer set is better suited for light/medium pike fishing, including heavier pike spoons, plugs, and casting flies. Line is not included.

According to US conventions, the lure recommendation is provided in ounces. 1/4-3/4oz for the 7-footer and 1/2-2 oz for the 8-footer.
