HK Varma XL Kalkkaro 17 Cm Deep-dive Plug

For years, HK Varma Kalkkaro has been one of the most popular plugs for trolling for zander and pike in Finland. With the addition of XL Kalkkaro, an even larger deep-dive plug has now been introduced to the Kalkkaro range! The new XL Kalkkaro version is different from the older 17-cm deep-dive model in that it has a slightly thicker body and an updated dive plate. This plug is super effective for zander and pike trolling in particular! Use as a driver in a double-lure set up or on its own. XL Kalkkaro is equipped with high-quality VMC hooks.

HK Varma plugs are handmade and designed for trolling from a rowboat or motorboat. Born in 1994. The design process had begun a couple of years earlier. HK Varma is made in North Karelia, in the village of Lehmo near Joensuu. “Here I have access to clean and versatile waters for testing my products”, says manufacturer Hannu Kesonen. “In the development, I have paid particular attention to the responsiveness of the plug and the sound it produces”, he continues.
