Pike Spoon JigTail is a combination of Norolan’s test-favorite Pike Spoon weedless lure and the new Norolan JigTail lure. This package can be used to lure large pike even among thicker weeds!
Norolan Pike Spoon JigTail is a long-casting weedless lure that incorporates a translucent center-lens that attracts fish and features a tail that is always moving, even when the retrieve stops. The cast middle section ensures that the lure remains extremely lightweight in the water. This also allows you to search through shallow spots and areas with vegetation using slower retrieve without sacrificing the strong action of the lure.
Norolan Pike Spoon JigTail is a fine example of 100% Finnish craftsmanship. Erä Magazine 12/2021: “Holding Norolan’s Pike Spoon in your hand, it is easy to feel proud of Finnish lure manufacturing. All in all, the lure is effective, innovative, and attractive tool for pike fishing.”
Norolan Pike Spoon JigTail is a new lure for pike fishing from Norolan. This hybrid lure combines the larger 10-cm Pike Spoon weedless lure, that was highly praised by Erä magazine, with the new JigTail. A large group of Finnish pike fishers participated in the JigTail product development. The cooperative development made it possible to introduce the first spoon and paddle jig hybrid to the market. The product development resulted in a unique construction, where the inner circle of the paddle tail, which is subjected to larger forces in the mouth of the pike, is slightly thicker than the outer circle. This provides higher durability for the tail.
In open spots, you can improve hooking by adding a treble hook to the nose ring or by bending the whiskers down. When moving to an area with vegetation, you can remove the treble hook, turn the whiskers up, and fine tune for counter attacks! JigTail increases the lure size to twenty centimeters, while the weight remains at a reasonable 36 grams. This means that you can go after truly large pike with lightweight equipment!
Tips:
• Stop your retrieve occasionally to provoke the fish to attack
• When the lure stops, it sinks down with swaying motion, which effectively mimics the movement of a wounded prey
• Openings with areas with vegetation are perfect for stopping
• Pausing the retrieve also allows you to reach closer to the bottom
• Make sure that you hold tightly on the rod, as an instinctive attack by a pike out of nowhere can shock anyone!
• Increase the attraction even further with small tugs and alternating retrieve speed
• You should adjust the whisker such that they reach approximately 5 mm further than the tip of the hook
• We recommend using a stretchy leader
• You can also use the lure without the tail!
