Rapala Skitter Pop is a surface layer lure with a cup-shaped nose plate that splashes the water when moving at speed. Surface lures have traditionally been thought as pike lures, but now it’s time to widen the audience. Try the lure for river trout at a depth of 0.5–2 meters year-round and on perch shallows in the heat of the summer. Basic speed rules: fast swim for warm water and active fish, slower swim with occasional stops for cold weather and passive fish, and even slower swim in freezing temperatures.
